Anand was born and raised in India, so they merged some Hindu traditions into the day. The bridesmaids wore amazing malachite-hued saris laced with bright gold sequins. Some of Anand's relatives from India showed everybody how it's done.

So much color, I had black & white take the day off::

Elegance::

I was impressed with Anand's signature panache for bringing people together. Over 350 guests, most of the vendors and assistants were friends and associates; you could tell he was born to create community.

Like I said with their e-session, Lindsey takes grace and makes it her own. A spectacular bride. (And she's really resilient because it's getting pretty cold by these two shots.)

Hindu culture in the florals: roses cocooned in banana leaves.

Anand's five ushers wore sherwanis and jeweled turbans, while the groomsmen wore western suits.

(See yourself in these photos? Tag them on Facebook here...)

On the other side of the basilica, the bridesmaids looked AMAZING. The emerald bindi was the perfect final touch.

When I got back to the guys, they were goofing off.

A prayer before the ceremony::

For a bride just moments before her wedding, Lindsey was amazingly composed and calm, and excited::

For interior ceremonies, the Immaculate Conception is a photographer's dream. Bright, open and spacious so you can explore the angles.

Love her look::

Choir loft access, too::

Married!

With every photographer I meet, I ask them what's their favorite moment of the wedding day. They all say the same thing: it's the moment just after the first kiss and recessional, when the bride and groom are tucked away for a brief moment, absolutely stunned that they're now husband and wife. After months and years of planning, they did it. You do not want to miss Anand & Lindsey's Moment, and the rest of their wedding, plus a slideshow of even more pictures, all featured in Part II.
